Is Fall a Good Time to Sell a Home?

August 1, 2021

If you are thinking about selling your home but worried that you missed the hot moment, never fear, the second-best time is almost here!!

The best time to sell a home is when inventory is lowest, and that, my friends, is in the early spring and late fall. When summer vacations are over and school is back in session, people are ready to get back to the business of their lives, and that includes shopping for homes, with a motivation to get in before the holidays. Homes look beautiful in the fall, so your curb appeal will be ideal as well!

This means that from about the second week of September through late November will be a great time for you to have your home on the market. You definitely haven’t missed that boat! Are you ready? Wondering? Trying to figure out how to get your home ready?

Contact us for a consultation where we can discuss your home, value, and next steps!

Smart home tech is everywhere these days, but not every gadget is worth the investment. 💸

So, which upgrades actually add value and make life easier? Here’s a quick breakdown.

Top Smart Home Investments:
1. Smart Thermostats – They adapt to your schedule and help reduce energy costs.
2. Smart Lighting – Control your lights remotely, save on energy, and create the perfect mood.
3. Smart Security – Doorbell cameras and smart locks give peace of mind and are appealing to future buyers.

Affordable & Practical Options:
1. Smart Plugs & Switches – Easily control electronics from your phone.
2. Voice Assistants – Devices like Alexa or Google Home help manage daily tasks.

Upgrades to Think Twice About:
1. Specialized Devices – Items like smart wine coolers are fun but may not add resale value.
2. Full-Home Automation – Impressive but not always practical or necessary.

Smart upgrades bring convenience, savings, and can even help when it’s time to sell your home. What smart home features can you not live without? 📱

Thinking about moving to a smaller home and cutting out the extra “stuff”? Downsizing doesn’t have to be overwhelming – here’s where to start!

🏠 Start small – Begin with one room or closet. Sorting in stages keeps you moving forward without the stress.

💛 Keep what matters – Prioritize the pieces you truly use and love. Downsizing is the perfect time to let go of the rest.

📏 Assess your needs – Picture your ideal new space. How much room do you need for what really matters?

🤲 Donate or sell – Your unneeded items could bring joy to someone else. Decluttering is easier when you know it’s helping others!

💼 Bring in pros – A professional organizer or move consultant can streamline the process, making your move to a smaller home smooth and stress-free.

Ready to make the leap? I have fantastic local resources and industry experts to help with every step of downsizing. Reach out if you need any recommendations! 🏡

I was listing to a podcast epsiode by @edmylett where he discusses the idea of not living life looking in the rearview mirror. In the episode, Mylett explains that the past is in the past, and that most of the time there’s nothing to be done to change it. He says that looking back and replaying the past can prevent people from focusing on the opportunities in front of them. Mylett suggests that people should use their past experiences to motivate them and keep moving forward. Such great words of advice, I just had to share!

I’m sending good vibes of abundance and goodness and hoping your future decisions will bring you happiness. 💚
