Kitchen Remodels – Return on Investment

November 8, 2022

Have you thought about upgrading/remodeling your kitchen but are wondering if it’s worth it? In general, you will not recoup the full cost of your kitchen remodel, so ideally you’re getting your own enjoyment/use from the remodel before having to sell. According to the Remodeling 2022 Cost vs. Value Report, your recoup value will be highest for a minor vs. major kitchen remodel. Read on for the breakdown…

Minor Kitchen Remodel – Midrange

Average Cost Recouped | Portland 78.9% | Pacific 77.9% | National 71.2%

In functional but dated 200-square-foot kitchen with 30 linear feet of cabinetry and countertops, leave cabinet boxes in place but replace fronts with new shaker-style wood panels and drawer fronts, including new hardware. Replace cooktop/oven range and slide-in refrigerator with new energy-efficient models. Replace laminate countertops; install midpriced sink and faucet. Add new resilient flooring. Finish with painted walls, trim, and ceiling.

When people move to Lake Oswego, they often think it’s all about the beautiful homes, top schools, and proximity to Portland.

But what makes people stay?
Morning walks by the lake.
Cafe’s where they know your name.
A downtown that still feels small-town.
Easy access to trails, parks, and water.
Neighbors who look out for each other.
Weekends that unfold without a plan.
That perfect balance of calm and convenience.
A community that feels connected, grounded, and proud to call this place home.

If you’re thinking about calling Lake Oswego home, this is what it’s really like to live here... not just visit.
