Going Boujie on a Budget

July 16, 2024

In real estate, we’ve seen impactful upgrades that give a home a fresh look while still being easy on the wallet.

These are a few of our favorite budget-friendly fixes:

  • Replace faucets and cabinet hardware. Estimated cost: $150-$400 for a kitchen faucet and $5-$25 per cabinet pull.
  • Upgrade door knobs and hardware. Estimated cost: $28 per passage door and $31 per privacy lock.
  • Swap builder-grade switch plates for decorative ones. Estimated cost: $5-25 per plate, depending on style.
  • Refresh rugs. Estimated cost: $189 for a 5×8 rug (check out our rug-picking guide).

We are a huge proponent of making small changes that go a long way.

Ready to take on some projects and not sure where to focus your efforts? Reach out, we’d love to help educate and answer questions you might have for getting more bang for your buck.

Ever heard of the butterfly effect?
It’s the idea that small choices can create big ripple effects.
Back in high school, I worked hard to get good grades because I really wanted to go to BYU. That effort got me in—and at BYU, I met my husband. Now, 20+ years later, we have four kids and (almost) two grandkids. One decision. One goal. And a whole life shaped by it.
Crazy how the little things turn into the big things, right? 🦋

Pro Tip for fellow agents: Arrive 10 minutes early to every appointment! ⏰

Unexpected delays happen – traffic jams, slowdowns, you name it. Planning for those extra minutes eliminates the stress of rushing and allows you to:

Center yourself: Take a deep breath and get organized.
Be your best self: Present a calm and confident demeanor to your clients.

A little early is always on time! 😉

My 5-9 before my 9-5…

Real estate doesn’t follow a traditional 9-5 schedule, but my mornings are where the magic begins.

☀️ Here’s how I start my day:

Movement: Whether it’s a quick workout or a calming walk, it helps me energize and clear my head.
Scriptures & Meditation: My favorite time to read and pray and review my priorities before the day gets busy.
Prep: Get my family ready and get myself ready.
Go time: Reviewing client needs, market updates, and today’s to-do list so I’m ready to serve.

By the time the clock strikes 9 (or earlier 😉), I’m focused and ready to make moves for my clients.

How do you start your day? Drop your morning must-haves below! 👇

I’m a huge fan of the ‘2-minute funeral.’ Let me explain!

Ever had something come up—maybe someone said something hurtful, or you find yourself stuck in a cycle of overthinking? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Set a timer for 2 minutes and fully lean into the anger, stress, sadness, or hurt. Feel all the feelings.

When the timer goes off, I say a little prayer, asking for it to be lifted from me. Then I remind myself: We’re done. We’re done spinning on this, thinking about this. It’s time to move forward.

Maybe this could be helpful for you too. Have you ever tried a 2-minute funeral?
