Current Low Mortgage Interests Rates Benefit Buyers and Sellers!

February 12, 2021

This year we’ve seen record-low interest rates, with a majority of analysts predicting that the pattern will hold for the near future, at least.

Why are interest rates so low?

The FED sets interest rates low to encourage economic activity during a low period, like the current pandemic.

Will the rates stay low?

The FED has committed to keeping rates low throughout the year [get more info]

Who benefits from low interest rates?

Home buyers benefit from low rates

If you are thinking about getting a home loan, this is one of the best times to do it.

Home Sellers benefit from low rates

You may think the mortgage rates don’t affect you when you are a seller, but you would be wrong! The fantastic rates we are seeing right now attract buyers! Houses that we put on the market are booking showings and receiving offers within days. If you have been considering selling, now is a great time to take advantage of the influx of buyers. As a bonus, you can then turn around and become a buyer getting these great low rates!

If you are thinking about getting into the real estate market, you could not pick a better time.

Buying a home is such a whirlwind that it’s easy to miss the small details while you’re falling in love with the perfect backyard or that open-concept floor plan. But as a broker, I’ve seen the “honeymoon phase” end quickly once the reality of living in the house actually sets in.

I want you to love your home long after I hand over the keys, so I’m pulling back the curtain on the things that usually get overlooked. These are some things that make people hate their house after closing:

Low Water Pressure: A daily mood-killer that often hints at old pipes which are a real pain and expense to replace.

Lack of Outlets: You don’t realize how much you rely on power until you’re running extension cords across your home office.

Inadequate Lighting: Dim rooms feel gloomy, and adding recessed lights later means messy drywall work and extra electrician fees.

Tiny Closets: We all think we can declutter, but cramped closets usually end with clothes on the floor and a need for a renovation.

Squeaky Floorboards: They seem charming during a walkthrough but are a nightmare when you’re sneaking to the kitchen at night.

Awkward Cabinetry: If your plates don’t fit in the cabinets or the microwave is too high to reach, every meal becomes a chore.

Limited Guest Parking: It’s a huge hassle to realize after moving in that your friends have nowhere to park, or that the street rules make hosting a total headache.

This is exactly why I tell my clients to look at the “boring” stuff during the inspection. You’re buying a lifestyle, not just a floor plan!

What’s one thing you noticed after moving in that drove you crazy? Let me know in the comments!

You can renovate a kitchen, but you can’t manufacture this. 🏔️💧

A view isn`t just a perk, it’s a premium. Whether it’s $25k or $2M in added value, the rarity of a location is what truly defines a luxury property.

I always tell my clients: Buy the view, then build the dream.

Did you know your brain is actually hardwired to look for what’s going wrong? 🛑

It’s an old survival instinct designed to protect us from danger, but in today’s world, it often just keeps us stuck in a loop of stress and “what-ifs.” If you’re only looking for threats, that’s all you’ll find.

At Robbins Realty Group, we believe that the best results come from a shift in perspective. 🏠 That’s why I start every single morning with one simple question:

“How is this going to be the best day of my life?”

By asking this, I’m training my brain to scan for opportunities, solutions, and wins—no matter how small. When you change what you’re looking for, you change what you find.

Give it a try tomorrow morning and let me know: What’s one thing you’re looking forward to today? 👇

The right house at the wrong price is still the wrong house. 🏠❌

Negotiating isn’t just about getting what you want; it’s about knowing when the deal no longer serves you. Here are my top 3 pillars for a successful negotiation:

1️⃣ Knowledge: Navigating the data with a pro who lives and breathes the market.
2️⃣ Patience: Keeping a cool head when emotions run high.
3️⃣ Strategy: Knowing exactly when to enter—and when to exit.

And the bonus tip? Knowing when to walk away. 👣

In a competitive market, you need more than just an agent; you need a strategist. Ready to find the right house at the right price? Let’s chat.

Plot twist: this is actually Oregon, btw. Everyone assumes we’re living in a permanent rain cloud or a “Portlandia” sketch, but they’re missing the golden reality. From the sun-drenched coastal beaches to the high-desert chic of Central Oregon, our “gray” reputation is actually our best-kept secret for keeping the crowds away. We trade umbrellas for sunglasses more than you’d think, enjoying a sophisticated lifestyle defined by world-class dining and wide-open spaces.

There’s more than meets the eye waiting for you here.

Locals: what is the #1 thing people always get wrong about living in our neck of the woods? Let’s set the record straight in the comments! 👇
