Interior Decor Style Guide

June 2, 2025

Choosing an interior decor style can be fun, but also a little intimidating! Understanding various interior design styles can help you create a space that reflects your personality and preferences.

Here’s a few popular decor styles to help you discover which style best suits you:

Traditional

Rooted in classic European design, traditional style features rich wood tones, elegant furnishings, and symmetrical layouts. Think ornate details and timeless patterns.

Modern design embraces simplicity and clean lines. It often incorporates neutral color palettes, minimalistic decor, and functional furniture pieces.

Contemporary

Often confused with modern, contemporary style is ever-evolving, reflecting current trends. It blends comfort with sophistication, using a mix of textures and soft curves.

Scandinavian

Scandinavian design emphasizes functionality, simplicity, and connection to nature. It features light colors, natural materials, and clean lines to create a cozy atmosphere.

Art Deco

Glamorous, bold, and geometric. Art Deco design features luxurious materials, rich colors, and sleek lines. Think mirrored surfaces, gold accents, and elegant patterns that radiate 1920s sophistication.

Cottagecore

Cozy, romantic, and nature-inspired. Cottagecore captures the charm of rural life with soft florals, vintage finds, handmade touches, and a lived-in, whimsical feel. Some say this is similar to Nancy Meyers or Martha Stewart style as well.

Minimalist

Clean, calm, and clutter-free. Minimalist style focuses on simplicity, neutral tones, and functional design—every item has a purpose, and less truly is more.

Coastal

Coastal style brings the beach indoors with light, airy colors, natural textures, and nautical elements, creating a relaxed and breezy environment.

Midcentury Modern

Originating in the mid-20th century, this style features clean lines, organic curves, and a mix of traditional and non-traditional materials.

Maximalist

Bold, layered, and expressive. Maximalism embraces color, pattern, and personality with confidence. It’s about mixing styles, showcasing collections, and telling your story through design.

Real estate can feel like a lonely business... but I promise you, it doesn’t have to be. ✨

When I look at this video, from our strategic mastermind sessions to giving back to the community we love, and yes, even kicking back at our beach retreat, I don’t just see “coworkers.” I see a tribe.

I’ve always believed that who you surround yourself with dictates your growth. At our brokerage, we believe in high-level collaboration over cut-throat competition. We believe in celebrating the wins, supporting each other through the tough transactions, and actually enjoying the ride.

If you’ve been feeling like you’re on an island in your business, consider this your invite to the mainland. 🏝️

Let me let you in on a little secret... 🤫

Everyone waits for spring. They wait for the flowers to bloom and the “For Sale” signs to pop up everywhere. But you know what else pops up in spring? Bidding wars. Stress. Over-asking offers.

Here is why winter is actually your Power Play:

Serious Sellers: If a house is on the market right now, there is a reason. These sellers are motivated, which means we have room to negotiate.

Zero Crowds: No elbowing through open houses. You have the breathing room to make a decision.

Leverage: Prices often soften, and homes sit a little longer. That puts the ball in your court.

Don’t wait to compete with the crowd. Let’s use the cold to get you a hot deal. 🔥

Send me a DM if you want to see what’s sitting on the market right now.

I just adore Oksana. Spending the evening in her beautiful home, sharing the most delicious dinner with her and her boys, was such a joy.

This incredible mama of four is doing truly amazing things. While her husband is in Ukraine caring for his mom, she continues to show up with so much strength, grace, and love.

Getting to help her move from a two-bedroom apartment into a 3,000+ square foot home was one of those moments that reminds me why I love what I do.

Realtors…do feel like you’ve been pulled back this year?

That’s exactly what a slingshot does right before it launches forward.

We all hit those seasons that feel like setbacks. Whether it’s a shifting market or a slower month. But what if that tension you’re feeling isn’t failure? What if it’s just resistance building momentum?

The most successful brokers I know don’t panic during the pullback. They use this time to refine, reflect, and get laser-focused. Because when the market shifts again (and it always does), the agents who have been quietly preparing are the ones who are going to launch the farthest. 🚀

If this is your pullback season, don’t panic…prepare. The launch is coming.

📌 Save this post for the days you need the reminder.
